MUSIC NEWS: Kanye West Providing Chicago With “Got Bars” Music Program

Kanye West’s nonprofit organization Donda’s House will launch a 10-week program for youth in Chicago between the ages of 15-24. The music production and writing program titled Got Bars will occur on the South side of the city this Fall. The Got Bars program is to serve as another resource to keep the youth in the community from the spreading violence in the city. Donnie Smith, the wife of Assistant Director and rapper Che Rhymefest Smith, will oversee the program. Rhymefest will assist his wife in the programs development Rhymefest who recently ran for Alderman in the city stated, “I am so happy to launch “Got Bars” to honor Kanye West’s mother’s memory and to fulfill one of my aldermanic campaign goals”.
